3 Tips For Making Homeschooling Fun And Effective
Are things looking a little bland everyday? Perhaps you are looking to spice things up in your homeschool. I’m going to share with you some tips you can use to make your homeschool more fun and effective.
The key is making the workbook come alive, right? Homeschooling should be a magical time for your child to remember. It can be rewarding to fantasize about what your child might say or think as they reminisce on their homeschool days…okay, now maybe you can make that a reality.
Ways to make literature and history engaging
Have you tried getting your hands on a Shakespeare script, or doing a remake of the script from your child’s imagination? This can be very exciting to put together with middle schoolers or high school students.
It can give them a sense of independence and awaken the creativity that they already have and apply any critical thinking skills you may have taught them.
When it comes to teaching American history, I’ve found some pretty entertaining American History reenactments on YouTube in cartoon format that you would both enjoy watching together. Here’s an example of one:
Also, consider making the child create their own novel through an arts and craft project. This can be done by using construction paper, markers, and pipe cleaners for the binding. I did this project with my elementary aged kids and they loved it.
They were able to write and illustrate their own books that they made up completely from their imagination. You can also create an assignment where they create the sequel to the book that they just finished reading, if there isn’t one already. This is another way that you can make homeschooling fun and effective.
Go on weekly or monthly budget friendly field trips around or near your state
The sky's the limit for field trips. There’s always more that your kid/s can be learning or engaging with. There are some places that you may not consider a formal field trip, such as the park, but can still bring rich information and fun into your homeschool to make it effective.
These are just a few ideas, but you can look up what free and fun year round activities are happening with your state.

You can look on Pinterest for a worksheet activity for coincides with the concept you are trying to teach your child as somewhat of a guide for teaching the activity. If you don’t like Pinterest very much, or would rather use one of your workbooks that’s something you can use as well.
